AUVSI MAV Competition
From October 30-November 2, Nathan Knoebel and Bret Millar represented a team of Brigham Young University students at the MAV Competition sponsored by AUVSI. The competition was held at Eglin Air Force Base in Sandestin, Florida. Among the eight teams from all over the world, the BYU MAGICC Lab's Micro Air Vehicle took home first place. Read more here.

AUVSI Student UAV Competition
In June of 2006, a team of undergraduate students working directly with the MAGICC Lab traveled to Maryland to compete in the Fourth Annual AUVSI Student UAV Competition. On June 17, they showed their ability to geo-locate ground targets, avoid no-fly zones, and dynamically change course in a forty-minute mission. BYU's team finished second, a very good showing for their first entry in the competition. Read more here.
The competition's website is found here, and a tester release can be found here.

Infotech@Aerospace Video Competition
The MAGICC lab has entered several contests, two of which we want to make note of from recent past. In September of 2005, BYU took first place in the Infotech@Aerospace Video Competition at Arlington, Va. BYU's engineering team won the grand prize for best video, beating a list of household names including NASA, Boeing and Lockheed-Martin. The video itself can be found on the video page.
